Born From Earth, Alive In Air
Why Botanical Incense?
In my culture, incense has always been more than “a nice smell”. It marks a beginning, a pause, a moment to reflect.
When I couldn’t find incense that felt gentle and plant-true enough for daily use, I started to experiment in my own kitchen.
I crushed herbs and resins in a mortar, blended wood powders, learned how natural binders work with water, and rolled my first crooked sticks by hand.
They weren’t perfect. But they felt honest — I could see and smell the plants in them. That’s still how I work today.
How I Make Each Batch?
Every blend starts in a bowl, not in a factory.I weigh and mix each powder by hand so the scent feels balanced, not overwhelming.
Water is added slowly, in small splashes, until the mixture turns into a soft, springy dough. From there, each stick is hand-rolled, shaped and lined up to dry.
They don’t all look exactly the same — some a little thinner, some a little curved.
To me, those small differences are proof that real hands, not machines, made them.
I’d rather roll fewer sticks with care than chase perfect, industrial shapes.
Who It’s For?
- love plants, handmade objects and small details
- want their home to feel calmer, not louder
- are curious about natural incense, but don’t want something harsh or overpowering
- are looking for tiny, doable rituals to make busy days feel a bit softer
I make these botanical sticks first for the version of myself who was always tired and rushing… and then for anyone else who feels the pull toward a slower, more grounded way of living.
If that’s you, you’re very welcome here.
